Solstice celebration at Glenwood Children's Park

"Many stalwart folks showed up on Friday's official Solstice evening to defy Mayan doomsday talk and to thaw the longest coldest night of the year with good camaraderie, singing, hot cider, smores, and a blazing bonfire.

This event is EXACTLY as park architect Jens Jensen intended this wonderful place to be used !

Thanks to Gabe Burdulis for his heartfelt songs, cold fingers, & snapped guitar strings. Thanks to Percy Mather, Dorrie Sundquist, Roland Rueckert, & Linell Davis for their help with the candle luminaries and all the other invaluable help to stage this event."
