Restore funds in State budget for recycling

More trash in dumps?  Not a good idea.

Governor Walker's budget bill aims to eliminate state recycling requirements and cut funding for recycling to local municipalities.  But that's a really bad idea.

"Currently, Wisconsin's recycling programs support 97,000 jobs in our state and contribute $5.4 billion to our economy. They also keep nearly 2 million tons of trash out of Wisconsin landfills.

Everyone knows that more trash means more dumps, and it costs more to build new landfills than to recycle. Recycling programs keep Wisconsin clean and earn money for our state.

We can 'Stop the Madness' and restore Wisconsin's mandatory recycling program, if we act now. Donate to Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters Today."
